CEO hints at making the pack expensive, Airtel's 5G service will be launched this month
Telecom operator Bharti Airtel will start 5G services in some cities this month. It will cover all the towns and major rural areas of the country by March 2024. The company's MD and CEO Gopal Vittal gave this information.
Gopal Vittal also said that the cost of mobile services in India is very low and needs to be increased. This is a direct indication that the price of 4G pack can be increased and for 5G service also the user will have to pay more than 4G.
Vittal said, “Plans are fully ready to roll out 5G in 5,000 cities in India. This will be one of the biggest rollouts in our history. In the recently held 5G auction, Airtel has bagged 19,867.8 MHz spectrum.
Jio may launch 5G
on August 15 Jio has indicated to launch 5G network service from August 15. It is being said that 5G service can be done in select metro cities for the time being. It will take a month or two for Jio to fully roll out its 5G services in major cities of India. The phased rollout in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities could happen early next year.
